LymeForward Partnership Structure
Lyme's Local Area Partnership (LAP) was created in 2004 to bring together all the local interests in one forum, uniquely combining the statutory, voluntary and community sectors and provision. It produces an annual action plan and in 2007 adopted the LymeForward Community Plan as its key strategy document.
Ellen Austin, our LAP Co-ordinator, is supported by a small team of volunteers who give both strategic and practical help.
LymeForward members[link to membership page] meet quarterly to plan how they will deliver the Plan's vision.
Every March we present our achievements against the Plan's targets at a public meeting, and invite comments on our suggestions for the next year's activities.
The hard graft of actually doing the activities is done mainly by volunteer theme groups.
Most of the LAP's work is done by volunteers, but the Lyme Regis Development Trust receives a grant from West Dorset District Council and the Lyme Regis Town Council to employ a part-time co-ordinator. The grant spells out what the money has to deliver, and the Trust is responsible for ensuring that it does.
We work closely with Lyme Regis Town Council through regular Community Plan Implementation Committee meetings.
LymeForward is an active member of the West Dorset Partnership.
The West Dorset Strategic Partnership in turn links through to the Dorset Strategic Partnership.
